Memorial Day Every year on Memorial Day, the South Bound Brook Fire Company pays tribute to all of our members who have passed since our incorporation in 1902. We do this in cooperation with the the Mayor and Council, American Legion, South Bound Brook Police Department and Rescue Squad. We start out at the War Monuments on
Elizabeth Avenue with a ceremony by the American Legion followed by a
parade march to our firehouse where we hold our service. During
our ceremony every member's name, who has passed, is read off followed
by the ringing of the bell. The ceremony also has the placing of
the wreathes, a gun salute by the Legion, and a touching rendition of
TAPS.
After the ceremony, we open up the firehouse for a lunch for all those who came.
