Firefighter Survival Training Class
May 14th and May 16th
We just went through an advanced firefighting training class. This class takes the firefighter and puts them in to "Career Ending Situations" and displays the techniques on how to survive. We experienced situations where we had to dive out a window on the second floor head first, we were forced down a narrow tunnel where we were entangled with wires and debris, and we were taught how to properly administer a "mayday" call. This was a very challenging class physically and mentally.

CLASS ROOM ON THURSDAY NIGHT

SATURDAY STARTS OUT NICE AND EASY
"SWIM" THROUGH SOME BEAMS AND CRAWL AROUND ON THE LAWN

NEXT LETS TAKE IT UP A LEVEL
CLIMB OUT A SECOND STORY WINDOW - HEAD FIRST - DOWN A LADDER

ALL WENT GOOD WITH THE LADDER - NOW LETS TRY IT WITHOUT ONE

NOW THE "FUN" BEGINS
WE ENTER IN TO THE "CONFIDENCE" COURSES
THE FIREFIGHTERS MUST FIND THEIR WAY THROUGH ROOMS WHICH ARE LOADED WITH OBSTRUCTIONS HIGH AND LOW WHILE DOING MULTIPLE TASKS LIKE CUTTING WIRES, CALLING "MAYDAYS" OVER THE RADIO, AND "SELF RESCUING" THEM SELF AFTER NUMEROUS OBSTACLES HAMPERED YOUR FORWARD PROGRESS. DID WE MENTION THIS WAS ALL DONE BLINDFOLDED.

MOST OF THE CONFIDENCE COURSE WAS NOT PHOTOGRAPHED TO KEEP THE INTEGRITY OF THE DRILL INTACT FOR FUTURE CLASSES

FIREFIGHTER RAINIS FOUND SOMEONE HE COULD TALK TO ON HIS LEVEL

DURING LUNCH BREAK WE WERE INVITED TO LONG TIME MEMBER HUBIE'S PLACE WHERE HE PUT OUT A WONDERFUL SPREAD.

WE ALL WOULD LIKE TO THANK HIM AND HIS WIFE
THANKS HUBIE
